GVMA Band Night – A Night to Remember!

Last night we hosted our first GVMA Band Night at the Phoenix Resource Center Theatre.

We had a line-up of 4 great bands take to the stage and each one of them put on an amazing set in front of a sell-out crowd.

The night started off with our  Band 101 group putting on an eclectic performance with songs ranging from jazz to rock, they sounded like a band who had been playing together for years which after just 12 weeks was mind blowing!  Huge well done.

Next up we had New Born who played a blistering set of rock classics -  full of energy, musicianship and great stage personas, highlights were Nirvana & Green Day.

Then Luke Mcenaneys band kicked into a version of Rage Against the Machines - Bombtrack and carried through an awesome punk energy. They sounded like a band that not only knew their stuff but had real rock and roll swagger.

Finally Sphinx capped off the night with a killer set, displaying their great musical skill, crowd interaction and showcasing all the hard work they’ve put in. Needless to say it demanded an encore from the sell out crowd.

It was a great night and some of the best performances I’ve seen from Good Vibes students so far (I was up in the balcony on the sound desk singing and dancing along all the way).
